Spam, it’s not what’s for dinner.
Who likes spam?
And no I’m not talking about that classic Hawaiian treat also known as meat in a can. I’m talking about the kind that you run into when you are trying to find something useful on the internet or when you get an unwanted e-mail in your inbox. It’s like ordering a beautiful filet and getting fried spam.
Anyone like getting those? I didn’t think so.
So why is it an ongoing problem? The answer is usually one of two things, money and/or malicious motivations. There are tons of people in the world that are taking advantage of others who think they can make a quick buck by buying e-mail lists or creating spammy content to get their product out there. There are also those who’s whole intention is to mess with your life by giving you a computer virus. The types I am going to mention in this article are the ones that have to do with black hat or spammer SEO.
There are all types of website spam. You can see a list from Google below:

Chances are if you aren’t in the web development industry, you might not know what most of this means. So let’s look at it from a direction.
Content is royalty?
You have probably heard the phrase, Content is King. Well, it’s true, at least to the extent that it is consistent. Good consistent content is one of the new “tactics” for SEO. Here is how it works, Google wants to see new content and links on a site to consider it a trustworthy site, so every time you post something new and engaging on your site, that is a plus. There are a ton of ways you can do this too, whether it be a written blog, a video, podcast, or just updating your website pages. The status of your website cannot stay on life support and be expected to render top results in the search engines. We recommend posting a new blog post at least once a week, and that is somewhere in the range of 300 to 500 words. This will ensure that Google is going to find new and (hopefully) engaging content the next time they scan your site.
So now you might be asking:
I have new content on my site, what now?
Do I need to do anything else with this new content?
What else can I do to help my website rank better on the search engines?
Stay tuned and feel free to ask any questions you might have in the comments section below.
